Verse for Meditation: Philippians 2: 2-16
Philippians 2:12 says work out for your salvation.
What does that mean? Does it mean that we have to work a lot for obtaining the salvation?
Of course NO. When we became the children of God, we became the heirs of God's grace, His goodness and all of His riches
Romans 8:17 - Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ
Galatians 4:7 - So you are no longer a slave, but God's child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.
Then what does this work out means? We use this word - work out - in the context of exercises. We go to gym to do work out. What is the result of doing work out? The muscles are not getting created when we are working out, but the muscles that are already there inside our body will get improved and strengthened.
In the same way, the riches of God (ie Joy, Peace and Rest) that are already deposited inside us will get strengthened and will start to produce results when we work out the salvation.
Joy - the joy that the word of God provides us is above all the happiness that the world provides and it is ever lasting, unlike the worldly happiness.
Peace - If you trust in God with all your heard and if you have rock like faith in Him, we can have 100% peace in midst of all the problems you are going through, because we know that this situation is going to pass through soon and we will reach the land where milk and honey flows...
Rest - Rest is the complete relaxation of mind... the same state of a child who completely know that his parents will take care of all his needs and he don't have to worry about anything.. Like wise if you have complete trust in Lord, you can put all your worries in His shoulders and be relaxed and patiently wait till He solves the situation according to His glory - which will be so perfect that you didn't even imagine.
What are the work outs you need to do to inherit these riches?
1. First and foremost - Read the Word of God (1 peter 2:2) - every day. Word of God, which is the food for our soul - which keeps our soul alive and helps it to grow healthly in Jesus Christ.
2. Spend time with God (John 8:47)- every day - spend some time alone praying and listening to His voice, listen to what He has to talk to us.
3. Control your words and thoughts (Jacob 3:4-5) - always think positive, talk the words of upliftment. let the people around you get encouraged and consolation. Let people realise that you are a child of God by your words and deeds.
4. He Humble and Obedient (Phil 2:5-8) - Always remember that Jesus was humble and obedient to God that he even gave His life for us. Treat all others as if they are better than yourselves. If you humble yourself, God will life you up.
5. Do not complain or argue (Phil 2: 14) - Obey your authorities and think that your family, friends, job, superiors etc are given to you by God and He will always select the best for you.
Conclusion:
Always keep in mind that we are the privileged lot to be called and selected as the children of God. Our father is the creator of the universe. Always live in that dignity. Show the world that we are the Royal people - the family members of God the Almighty father. Be in intersession with the Holy Spirit so that all the ways you select should lead to eternity.

Philippians 2: 2-16 (NIV)
2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.
4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.
5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death-- even death on a cross!
9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,
13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.
14 Do everything without complaining or arguing,
15 so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe
16as you hold out the word of life--in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing.
